Many cultures such Andalusian, Gypsy, Sephardic, Moorish and Byzantine have been detected as flamenco´s influences, often claimed to have coalesced around the time of the Reconquista in the 15th century.

Thus the birth of "nuevo flamenco" (new flamenco), classical and virtuous on the one hand and more open to new musical genres.
